You are so lucky to have that car when I saw that car on Samcracs Chanel I became an Audi fan and rs7 became my favourite car forever that car have over 800hp if you don't believe me you can dyno it . That's a dream car I wonder why Sam fucked that car

I just read about you in my latest Car and Driver. Very impressive. You have brass balls pulling this car apart with no prior experience. I have to say, as a white man, that I am disappointed to hear about the racism you go through. Pre Trump I thought most of that shit was over, but now I see racism is alive and well in America. Best of luck to you.

Rich, this was a very impressive repair for an "amateur". Really good stuff. You said you were proud several times during this video, and each time I was thinking "you should be".

These cars are so over complicated over-engineered and don't need to be but they will cost a lot of money imagine buying one in 10 years time and how much money you would need to spend on it just like a BMW X6 overcomplicated and overpriced

Sanding without a N95 or face mask, burning substances with a blow torch on a car, not wearing gloves to protect your hands... Anyone of those can cause you extreme suffering down the road.

Kind of surprised Rich didn't take off the back of the exhaust as well knowing it wasn't in the right place either so it would make a little more room underneath. But darn man this is great fab work to watch.

Rich, cuz, if your gonna work on cars and film (ty for that). You got to get a GoPro and put it on a helmet, or sweat band. You can use both your hands to work.

Just if you did not know it but Key is missing with a Keyless VWagen's (Including bugatti and lambo) in a 95% means a low car battery or issues with voltage on ECU/ immobilizer. Rest 5% - key is actually not coded in your car.

RICH, first time commenting and congratulation on the restoration. Hind sight is 20/20 and going forward, would it not have been better to just remove the rear passenger seat, pick and replace the entire piece with a better cosmetic outcome than what you had to do for salvaging the old forward section and now left with the re attachment point of the salvaged forward section and the newer replaced trunk floor visible for all to see. Stay positive as always Cheers

Grand job, looking good. Seeing those so called "Professional Repairs" makes my welding and panel repairs on my old car English car (I can't get the parts for my car, so I have to create compound curves among other items) look pretty good! Pity the second batch of spray paint made a couple of months later is lighter, but hey I am getting there.

One trick to figure out where spot welds are is to take flat black (cheapest pos spray paint you can find) and paint the whole area with it. Then, the hidden spot welds will pop out instantly in vision. Alternatively (but this is messy as hell) just throw graphite powder with an applicator. I prefer the paint variant since you're already going to have to paint it anyways. Plus, unlike back in the day, you have weld through flat black paint (if you don't wanna cheap out) and that's just pumping.

Props for taking on a repair like this in your garage (with a rusty chisel...) - good work bud. And that thing sounds like a Spitfire when it's running! The previous 'repair work' was appalling - bodywork by Stevie Wonder.

Does this type of repair affect the overall rigidity and integrity of the car? Will the car be as safe, etc?
PiscesXXX
Yes it is comprised, no it is not safe. The rebar directly behind the bumper (the silver aluminum bar) is the first line of defense second to the absorber which is attached to the bumper in the video as it comes off, it cannot be repaired and most be replaced if damaged. As for the rear body panel and floor I haven’t read the procedures but I’m pretty sure that should have been welded and bonded. And I’m not sure what the procedures are on sectioning that trunk pan but it seems sketchy with out looking it up.
